Crave consistency? Drive Dedicated.

Haul freight for one primary customer, developing the relationships and routine that bring consistency to both your professional and personal life.

Watch the video

Schneider Dedicated truck drivers enjoy reliable home time. Pulling freight for one Dedicated customer means you can establish a routine whether you choose a full-time or part-time truck driving opportunity. Life as a Dedicated driver means you’ll leave home about the same time, travel on familiar lanes at predictable times, then return home on schedule. This setup allows you to make plans with your family and friends. They’ll be happy to know they can count on you to be home when you say you’ll be there.

Each Dedicated account is set up differently, but many accounts get drivers home weekly or more — typically on the same days each week. Some accounts, like home delivery, feature daily home time.

Schneider’s Dedicated freight base includes many of the largest companies and retailers in the U.S. You’ll never have to worry about having enough freight to keep you moving — there’s merchandise to deliver year-round. You can expect to average up to 2,500 miles per week, depending on which account you choose.

Some of our largest Dedicated accounts even have enough freight to offer Jet-Set opportunities for drivers to get a paid flight, haul freight for a few weeks and get a paid flight back for home time. So, if you’re looking for a particular type of Dedicated account or freight, it may work even if you live across the country!

Schneider not only boasts a huge Dedicated freight base, but also a diverse one — with opportunities for Team and solo drivers. Choose an account with dry van, reefer, flatbed, home delivery or other specialty freight; no-touch freight or full unloads; long-haul or multi-stop configurations — so many options to choose from.

Or, choose them all, doing a little of everything on Schneider’s National Dedicated Fleet . Instead of driving for one customer, National Dedicated Fleet drivers support new business start-ups, provide surge support and cover for drivers on vacation around the country. It’s the perfect combination of consistency and variety.

It’s basic trucking math: consistent miles + consistent freight = consistent paychecks. Running steady freight to one primary customer means there won’t be any unpleasant surprises when payday arrives. Schneider Dedicated truck drivers average $45,000 - $70,000 a year, depending on account, location and experience. In addition to your base pay, you’ll have the opportunity to earn performance pay for driving safely each week and have access to unlimited referral bonuses.

Positive minded, action-oriented, constant grower, budding entrepreneur. I used to say a lot, now I do a lot. Documenting my journey.

Courage for me is an interesting concept. When I think about courage, I immediately think about the heroes in films.

Or Courage, the Cowardly Dog.

But either way I am thinking of someone who, for lack of better words, is a total badass. However as I’ve learned and grew over the years, I’ve realized courage is a lot more than just facing your own fears.

It About Being Bold WithLife

To be courageous doesn’t mean you have to be in a war or fight people. Of course, those are seen as brave things to do. However every day people can be brave in their own sense.

What I’m getting at is I believe courage can be born from two ways. There is the physical side, and there is the mental side. I believe a lot of people can be courageous thanks to this mental side. Those are the fears that we can’t physically see. Not to mention they are often overlooked.

We’re accustomed to seeing acts of bravery as fighting against super villains, tyrants, bullies, or fighting in epic battles to the death.

And I don’t blame you. Those take a lot of courage to be involved in.

The Mental Side OfCourage

But this mental side, or our mental fears, are legit problems and they can take courage to face. So many of us struggle to deal with it due to a variety of reasons. It’s why, I believe, people get anxious or experience doubt, or can’t come to face with failure or the potential of risk.

What I’m getting at is that what goes on our head can make us courageous when we have the right tools, the proper way of thinking and the confidence to move forward with it.

Mental Fear

In the end, our mental fear isn’t something we can’t physically see. It’s not spiders, or dogs, snakes, tigers, lions, or bears (oh my!). It’s the stuff that goes on inside of our head.

Perhaps our past made us think it’s foolish to start a business. We’re reluctant ourselves because we’ve seen others try and fail and we don’t want that to happen to us.

In the end, this mental fear is a way to preserve us. To keep us comfortable as opposed to courageous. By all means there is nothing wrong with being comfortable, but I believe in order for us to grow and become better, we need to be courageous. To step out of our own comfort zones.

League sources say Dirk Nowitzki opted for season-ending surgery today on his left ankle to enhance his chances of returning for a 21st season and to get the earliest possible start on rehab. Link to coverage:

— Marc Stein (@TheSteinLine)

The surgery was already planned, league sources say, when Nowitzki told the last week: "As of now, I'm planning to come back" next season

Nowitzki decided to play through the left ankle impingement that plagued him throughout this season and his mobility was severely hampered at times, but the Mavs' hope is that today's procedure helps in that department

This last tweet is extra telling of the impressive abilities of Dirk even at the ripe old age of 39. The fact that he was able to play through this ankle injury shows just how tough and focused he is while on the court. Although his movement definitely looks slow and painful, it is good to hear that this is not entirely due to old age.

The Dallas Mavericks official Twitter also released an announcement on the ankle situation:

Dirk underwent surgical debridement of his left ankle today in Dallas. Get well soon, .

— Dallas Mavericks (@dallasmavs)

The hope for everyone is that Dirk Nowitzki decides to come back for another year. Although his play has taken a bit of a hit, there is no doubt that he is still a capable player on the court who is beloved by an entire fanbase and a vast majority of the NBA fans of the world.

The next few months and weeks will be important to the impending decision from Dirk on whether season #21 will happen. Any hindrance with the ankle could add concern to the return, but for now, we will stay hopeful that Dirk will be back for one more year.

Dealing with Sentence-Level Issues

The most important part of writing is to make sure your reader can understand what you're trying to say. Noam Chomsky, a famous American Linguist from the 20th and 21st century, that clear content is more important than perfect grammar when he came up with the sentence:

Technically, this sentence is grammatical; it has a subject () and a predicate (). However, this sentence doesn't . This is why content is more important than grammar--you can have impeccable grammar, and say nothing, but if you say something with less-than-perfect grammar, most people will still understand what you're trying to say.

Keeping that in mind, once you've dealt with content issues like organization, clarity, quality and depth of analysis, etc., then, , can you turn to sentence-level issues...

First, try reading your work out loud

No matter how silly you feel doing it, do it!

Ask yourself: do my words sound when I read them out loud?

"Right" here means "grammatical" according to a native speaker's intuition

Reading aloud forces you to pay closer attention to your phrasing, spelling, and punctuation

Also try reading your work aloud ; this forces you to look at every single word

Next, ask yourself, "which sentences actually make my paper more difficult to understand and aren't just 'ungrammatical?'"

Things like spelling and punctuation don't need to be dealt with until your final revision or so

Now that you've read your work out loud and you've found a few things you consider "ungrammatical," here are 10 of the most common sentence-level problems and some to help you tackle them:
